PropTech Outlook: Selection Methodology

Program Objective

The “Top PropTech Solutions and Service Providers” and related recognitions by PropTech Outlook aim to identify organizations across the property technology ecosystem that demonstrate leadership in real estate operations efficiency, asset value optimization, and occupant experience enhancement. The program covers solution providers supporting property owners, developers, and operators in addressing portfolio performance, cost pressures, tenant expectations, and evolving real estate business models, alongside organizations delivering property management platforms, digital transaction tools, smart building systems, and data-driven analytics solutions across the property lifecycle. It also recognizes providers advancing automation, IoT-enabled infrastructure, and AI-driven real estate intelligence.

The Selection Framework

Our research team, in collaboration with the PropTech Outlook Editorial Board, an external panel of industry peers, analysts and subscriber-driven nominations, employs a Real Estate Services and Solutions Value Index to identify and recognize companies delivering exceptional value to the PropTech industry. Subscriber input plays an important role in the process, highlighting companies that professionals across the industry would recommend to their peers, choose for their own organizations or regard as best-in-class within their domain.

Nominees are scored on a scale of 1–100 across the following four criteria:

Real Estate Relevance and Use-Case Fit (30%)
Assessment focuses on how closely a provider addresses core property operations such as leasing, facilities management, asset performance, tenant engagement and portfolio oversight.

Execution Across Property Portfolios (25%)
The editorial board examines a provider’s ability to deliver consistently across diverse asset classes, geographies and ownership structures where operational complexity and scale influence outcomes.

Business Impact on Asset Performance (25%)
Scoring considers measurable improvements in occupancy rates, operating costs, tenant retention, revenue generation and overall asset value across managed properties.

Market Confidence and Industry Adoption (20%)
Strong candidates demonstrate sustained client trust through repeat engagements, referrals, subscriber nominations and recognition among property owners and operators as dependable partners.
