THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
Tanner Janesky, FounderDrawing on his expertise as a product designer, Janesky decided to fill the gap himself. He founded Elemental Air Systems to create a purifier that delivered complete performance. The result is the Aspen Air Purifier—engineered with a powerful three-stage filtration system that includes an allergy filter, an activated carbon filter and a hospital-grade HEPA filter. Together, they remove even the most elusive airborne threats, creating cleaner, safer indoor environments.
The purification journey begins with a high-performance allergy filter that traps larger irritants like mold spores, pollen and pet dander. Air then moves through a custom-engineered activated carbon filter, densely packed with 3.3 pounds of microscopic pores to absorb odors, formaldehyde, tobacco smoke and volatile organic compounds (VOC) from everyday household products. Finally, the air passes through Aspen’s Microparticle HEPA filter, which captures 99.99 percent of particles as small as 1.0 microns and 99.97 percent down to 0.1 microns— effectively removing smoke, bacteria, viruses, smog, radioactive fallout and ultrafine dust. While most HEPA filters are tested at 0.3 microns— the particle size considered most difficult to trap—Aspen’s filtration surpasses this benchmark, combining near-perfect capture of larger particles with exceptional protection against ultrafine pollutants to deliver cleaner, safer air than typical systems.
To prove Aspen’s real-world advantage, Janesky built a custom smoke chamber with transparent walls and laser lighting, making airborne particulates impossible to miss. He tested Aspen head-to-head against leading purifier brands. The results were commendable, while competing units leaked visible smoke, despite claims of HEPA certification, Aspen maintained complete capture, leaving the surrounding air visibly cleaner. This hands-on testing exposed the gap between label promises and actual performance, solidifying Aspen’s reputation as a high-integrity solution in a market clouded by vague certifications and misleading terms like “HEPA-style.”
Functionality remains at the center of Aspen’s appeal. Janesky avoided adding smart features like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which often introduce complexity and points of failure. Instead, Aspen was designed for pure usability, a simple three-button interface with controls for power, fan speed and filter reset. It’s a product that doesn’t need an instruction manual. Once powered on, it blends into the background, efficiently and silently improving indoor air quality around the clock.
That focus on real-world simplicity and reliability makes the difference for Aspen’s users. In one case, a customer struggling with severe allergies had cycled through four competing purifiers, finding little relief. After switching to Aspen, the family noticed a visible improvement within days, and soon purchased additional units to protect more rooms in their home.
Stories like these resonate deeply with Janesky, who knows firsthand what it’s like to search for a solution they need. Drawing on his background as an experienced product designer—responsible for developing the world’s most efficient dehumidifier—he built Aspen from the user’s perspective—simple, effective and uncompromising in delivering real results. Today, when the market is crowded with impressive features but often falls short in practice, Aspen stays true to what matters— providing the air quality that changes how people breathe, live and feel at home.
